H.H. “Cotton” Miller at 111 Lynne Lane in Mount Vernon recently grew a 15 pound cantaloupe. The melon was raised in a flower bed behind his house. He pulled the plant from the vine on Wednesday, July 21. He says he has eight vines with several bigger than average melons growing. He received his seeds for the melon from Glen Slaughter.
