Sandy Sariego was named as Rotarian of the Year for 2009-2010 by the Mount Vernon Rotary Club. President Kyle Winkle presented the award and the traditional navy-blue blazer with  Rotary emblem, during the group’s meeting on Friday, Aug. 6.
“Sandy is always the first to volunteer,” Mr. Winkle said. “She is a very proactive Rotarian.” Ms. Sariego has been a member of the club since 2007. She is the President - Nominee for the club. “I could not have made it through my year as president without Sandy’s help,” Outgoing president Ann Holland said. “All I had to do was call and she was there.” See the Aug. 12 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more information.
