Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

Approximately 500 people from church congregations across the community gathered at the First United Methodist Church of Mount Vernon on Sunday, Aug. 22 for a service focused on prayer for the upcoming school year at Mount Vernon schools. Following the service, those in attendance crossed Hwy. 37, with the help of Deputy Sheriff Robert Zinn, to conduct a prayer walk around the MVISD campuses.
