Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

The First National Bank float won first place in the annual Christmas Parade. It featured Matt and Mike Bales holding a U. S. flag, plus a large cross, and a nativity scene. The parade, sponsored by the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, consisted of 40 units. See the Dec. 9 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for a listing of winners from the parade.
