Members of American Legion Post 243, the post’s Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion Chapter are spearheading the effort to collect items needed by victims of flooding in Louisiana
will be collected this weekend. Drop off locations will be at the North end of the Brookshire’s parking lot on Thursday, May 26, and at the Family Dollar Store parking lot Friday and Saturday, May 27 and 28. For a listing of items needed, see the May 26 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
