A Summertime Sweets on the Square event has been scheduled for Thursday, June 16 in conjunction with the first in a series of plaza concerts. The sweets event is sponsored by the Downtown Business Association, and the plaza concert is organized by the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce. The plaza concert is free and open to the public. The Summertime Sweets on the Square will be conducted as a fund raiser to replace the lights on the downtown buildings.
Tickets for the sweets event are $10 and will be available in advance at the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce and the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald beginning Friday, June 10.
