Confederate marker to be unveiled at Fairview Cemetery June 25

Captain Yarbrough, his wife, Susan, and their  youngest daughter, Lizzie, circa 1900.An honor guard of the Sons of Confederate Veterans will unveil and commemorate a grave marker at Fairview Cemetery on Saturday, June 25 beginning at 10 a.m.

The public is invited. The honor guard will be in full dress regalia for the ceremony. The marker will be placed at the grave of James Archibald Yarbrough. He served as a captain and assistant quartermaster of the 31st East Tennessee Regiment of the Confederate Army. For more information, see the June 16 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
