The organizing and collecting of non perishable food items for the 2011 Christmas for All Food Baskets is underway. The Mount Vernon American Legion Post 243 will begin its collection of food items for the Christmas For All program this week. Scouts and adult volunteers with Cub Scout Pack 271 and Boy Scout Troop 271 will conduct a door-to-door drive for nonperishable food items beginning in Mount Vernon Saturday, Nov. 19.
