David Nance of Mount Vernon was promoted to the rank of Captain on Feb. 1. Since joining the United States Army, he has held the ranks of Specialist, Sergeant, Second Lieutenant First Lieutenant, and now Captain.  For more information, see the Feb. 14 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
