The annual Rotary Bingo for scholarships has been rescheduled for Saturday, Oct. 5, President Wayne Thames announced this week. “February has become very busy, with a lot of pressure put on merchants to donate to various causes,” he said. “The board decided to move the event to the Saturday after Homecoming this year in the hopes that merchants and other donors might be better able to support the event.” “The Rotary board also made the change in the hopes that Mount Vernon High School Alumni might attend and enjoy the fun,” he added.
