The weekly series of self help workshops for job hunters continues tonight, Thursday, March 19 from 5-8 p.m. at the Franklin County Library.

The City of Mount Vernon’s Comprehensive Development Plan is nearing completion. Citizens will have one of two final opportunities to make their wishes known in a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 31 at City Hall.

Bricks are being delivered to the construction site of the new Cypress Springs Special Utility District office on FM 115.  The project is scheduled to be complete later this year. (Optic Photo by Marie Dacus ‘09)

AEP Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) reminds its customers that metallic coatings on mylar helium balloons and on kites can cause damage to SWEPCO’s electrical system and cause power losses, emphasizing the need to make sure these objects are not allowed to interfere in the lines.    See the March 12 edition of the Optic-Herald for all the details.
