ETMC doctors and executives were joined by Chamber of Commerce dignitaries during ribbon cutting ceremonies at the First Physicians Clinic. About 250 attended the open house and ribbon cutting ceremonies on Thursday, Feb. 5 to mark the official opening of the ETMC First Physicians Clinic.
Texas’ First Lady Anita Perry, in conjunction with the Texas Historical Commission (THC), will host a press conference recognizing the first communities to receive the prestigious First Lady’s Texas Treasures Award today, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. on the steps of the Capitol in Austin. Long term Mission Manor Nursing Home employees Raymond Doss, Charlotte Evans, and Joyce Fountain are shown in front of the facility. Mission Manor recently celebrated its 40th anniversary. The home accepted its first residents on Dec. 9, 1968 and has operated at 501Yates St. ever since.
Franklin County Sheriff Paul Fletcher requested an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation regarding possible security issues. The department’s communications system and/or procedures are the target of the investigation.

A reception is planned from 2-3:30 p.m.Sunday, Feb. 15 honoring Sam B. Harvey on the occasion of his 90th birthday. The reception will be in the Community Room of the Family Life Center at the First United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon.
