Franklin County taxpayers could be facing the addition of up to $.03 on their taxes to pay for the county’s $1.207 million debt. The possibility of this additional tax burden was discussed at the Thursday, Jan. 15 workshop conducted by the commissioners court.

The Sulphur Bluff Beta Club will be hosts for their annual stew fund-raiser on Sunday, Jan. 25 at the Sulphur Bluff Community Center. Serving will begin at 11 a.m. by donation.
The youth choir at the First Baptist Church in Mount Vernon will be providing “Fred’s World Famous Chili” as meals on Saturday and Sunday to fund their summer choir tour. Seating times will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24 and at noon on Sunday, Jan. 25.
