Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

The Mount Vernon American Legion Post 243 will sponsor a Memorial Day and flag retirement ceremony Monday, May 25. The event will begin with a hot dog lunch in the hall of the post. Jim Arnold, Chaplain to Post 243, will be guest speaker for the event. Area citizens are urged to remember the nation’s fallen veterans by flying their U.S. flag Monday, Memorial Day.
