Sign-up for those interested in becoming contestants in the 2009 Rodeo Queens contest began Monday, June 1. The contest is sponsored annually by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Posse. Contestants must live within a 65 mile radius of the Franklin County lines. Girls age 24 and under are eligible to participate. The deadline to register is Monday, July 6. The organizational meeting for those registered will be conducted that night. Competition is set for Saturday, Aug. 29. See the June 4 edition of the Optic-Herald for more information.
