Gov. Rick Perry has appointed two local area residents to serve on state boards.
Kirby Hollingsworth of Mount Vernon was appointed to to a new position on the Sulphur River Basin Authority Board of Directors. Gerry Evenwel of Talco was appointed  to the Correctional Managed Health Care Committee. See the June 25 edition of the Optic-Herald for more information.
