Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

Commissioners approved advertising Mount Vernon as a retirement community to those thinking to move from the Chicago, Ill. area at their Monday, July 27 meeting. Willie Bane approached the Commissioners Court to fund the advertising and noted that Michigan, Illinois and Indiana are reported to have the highest number of residents moving out of state.
