August was much wetter than normal in 2009 with record setting rainfall recorded.In August, 10.63 inches of rain fell, which was 8.12 inches above the average at 2.51 inches. The previous record was 6.73 inches recorded in 1997.See the Sept. 3 edition of the Optic-Herald for more information.
