Sixteen area agencies were allocated funding for next year from the Franklin County United Way. Three of those organizations were not among the 2008-09 agencies.
Those newly allocated funding are the Community Food Bank of Franklin County, Northeast Texas Opportunities, Inc. and Titus County Cares. See the Sept. 3 edition of the Optic-Herald for more information about the 2010 fund drive for the United Way.
