Crowds were small but enthusiastic about protecting their communities against crime in the National Night Out Against Crime in Franklin County Tuesday, Oct. 6.
Lake Patrol Chief J. R. Alphin and City Police Patrolman Brad Wardrup registered just under 200 for door prize drawings. More than 180 were fed hot dogs and all the trimmings. A light drizzle and threat of rain caused organizers to move the location to the Community Hall at the Franklin County Airport. Organizers indicated they would do the event again next fall downtown.
