Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

Kayla Tatum is now serving as the athletic director at an international school in Western China. She was led to the job after being one of two leaders to take 13 students on an outdoor education backpacking trip to China last June. Ms. Tatum graduated early from Mount Vernon High School in 2003. She is the daughter of Misty Tatum and Darrin Tatum. She earned  a bachelor of science degree in Kinesiology from East Texas Baptist University in 2007.
