There will be no Mount Vernon Optic-Herald published on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009. The offices of the Optic-Herald will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23 and will remain closed through the holidays in order for the employees to have a week of vacation. The office will re-open at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4 for a regular publication date on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010.
