According the United States Census Bureau website, 53 percent of the people in Franklin County have returned their census forms. It is not too late to fill out the forms and mail them back to the bureau. “The April 1 date is when a statistical ‘snapshot’ of America is taken,” Gabriel Sanchez, director of the Dallas Regional Census Center said. “Information reflected on April 1 will help draw a complete portrait of America.”
By law, the Census Bureau must collect and compile a nationwide tally and present it to the president by Dec. 31. See details in the April 8 edition of the Optic-Herald.
