If you are looking for a mouth watering, toe tapping good time, then the Alamo Mission Museum is the place to be on Saturday, April 24.
The third annual Chili and Bluegrass event is planned for Saturday afternoon and evening on the museum’s grounds. God Rush Bluegrass and Gospel Band will be one of the featured performers at the Bluegrass Festival. Eleven cooks are currently registered to compete in the 2010 Chili Cook-Off. There is still time to accept the cook-off challenge. The cost to enter to cook chili is $25 as an individual or $50 for a team. Cooks may also enter the bean division for $5 and the campsite decorating division may be entered for an additional $35 fee.
The first prize chili cook will receive $200; second prize will be $100. There will be 100% return on fees for the bean contest. The best campsite winner, will receive $100. The winner of this category is to be determined by popular vote of those attending. See the April 22 edition of the Optic-Herald for details on the event.
