Early voting in the City of Mount Vernon’s council and mayoral elections appears slow but steady in the first two days with 22 ballots cast. Early voting in the elections will continue through Tuesday, May 6 in the council chambers of City Hall, 109 N. Kaufman Street. The early voting polling place is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. See the April 29 edition of the Optic-Herald for more information.
