Water district attempts to close loophole in lease regulations

Print

Creative uses of real estate  are pointed to as the reason for the Franklin County Water District’s latest revisions to their rules and regulations.
The change is directed at the district’s interpretation of and inclusion of a definition of “single family” in its written regulations. The district changed its definition of a single family to mean “one or more persons related by blood, adoption or marriage to the first or second degree of consanguinity or affinity; or not more than two (2) unmarried unrelated persons living and cooking together as a single housekeeping unit.” “This relationship must be human and not a corporation,” explained Jonathan Smith, the district’s real estate attorney. The rule went into effect Friday, Aug 6.  See the Aug. 12 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more information.
