Utility district applying for tower, increased production

Print

Franklin County Commissioner Court members agreed to act as the “middle man” for a  half-million dollar combination grant/loan project application at their Monday, Sept. 13 meeting.
The application is being made by the Cypress Springs Special Utility District (CS-SUD) for a $572,500 project total. The project calls for $275,000 as a grant from the Texas Department of Rural Affairs. The balance of the project, $297,500, is to be provided through financing by the CS-SUD. The funding will allow the utility district to construct a 200,000 overhead storage tower and improve treatment capacity of their “North Plant.” The plant is located on FM 900 east of Purley Community. Treatment capacity will almost double, to a two million gallon treatment capacity. See the Sept. 16 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more information.
