Commissioners in a 3:1 split vote placed responsibilities for overseeing county elections in the office of Franklin County Clerk Betty Crane. For the past two years, the duty has been in the hands of the Franklin County Tax Assessor/Collector. In a unanimous vote, the court also moved the responsibilities for the local birth and death records from the office of the Franklin County Justice of the Peace to the clerk.
