Texas Comptroller Susan Combs recently said November state sales tax revenue totaled $1.84 billion, up 8.7 percent compared to November 2009. Both Franklin County and the City of Mount Vernon saw a decrease in sales tax revenue compared to last year’s totals. The City of Mount Vernon received $39,557.04 in November revenue this year. The amount is down 5.85 percent from last year’s total of $42,015.43. Franklin County’s tax revenue for November was $27,084.66 down 12.43 percent from the $30,931.45 received last year.
