The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is considering closing turkey hunting seasons in 15 east Texas counties. The department is conducting scoping meetings during the first week in January to give the public an opportunity to weigh in on these considerations prior to any official proposed regulation change in 2012. The meetings are set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011 in the second floor community room at the Shelby County Courthouse, 200 San Augustine St., Center; and Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011 at the Montgomery County Memorial Library, 104 I-45 North, Conroe.
