Three major construction projects came to fruition in 2010 and were the top activities for local government entities. The completion of the widening of the east side of the dam on Lake Cypress Springs, the completion of the Mount Vernon Independent School District’s new Elementary School and continuing work on the replacement of city water lines were in the headlines frequently.
