Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

A civil suit was filed Thursday, Jan. 20 against the Texas Water Development Board, the state agency that oversees planning for future water supply, by area land owners and a timber company. The action was taken by area landowners who would have their land condemned and taken if the proposed Marvin Nichols Reservoir were built. Also joining the suit is a timber company whose business depends on logging in the Sulphur Basin.
