A second application for a Home Program under the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development grant was given the go ahead by the Mount Vernon City Council Tuesday. Feb. 8. The city will ask for the maximum grant $540,200, which will be used to demolish and reconstruct up to six substandard houses.
