County wants paying heads put in beds at local jail

Print
Empty beds at the county jail continue to concern Franklin County Commissioners, a worry accentuated by having to move $100,000 from the general fund to pay the jail debt. Out-of-county prisoners were supposed to cover the debt, but that source of income virtually dried up on Jan. 1, when the existing agreements expired. See the Feb. 26 edition of the Optic-Herald for more information.
