Organizers of the Mount Vernon Farmers Market have received notification that the local market has been certified by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
“The state certification was one of our goals for our organization before we kicked off the 2009 season,” Willie Bane, organizer, noted.
The Mount Vernon Farmers Market will begin operation Saturday, March 7, and continue to operate through the end of November. Vendors are welcomed to slots around the downtown plaza at no charge. For further information, see the Feb. 26 edition of the Optic-Herald.
