Two local spring events that are expected to draw hundreds, if not thousands, of tourists to the area are getting a boost for promotions. The Franklin County Commissioners Court approved $9,400 from the County’s Hotel/Motel Tax Fund. The award was made on recommendations from the Franklin County Hotel/Motel Tax Board. The seventh annual Tour de Cypress event and the Piney Woods Wine Festival received funding. See the March 24 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more details.
