Members of the Mount Vernon High School Art Club, art classes, and other classes in the intermediate and high school placed more than 300 pinwheels on the front entrance to the school on Monday, Sept. 22 as a part of the the National Day of Peace, which was Sunday, Sept. 21.
After the pinwheels are removed from the boulevard, they will be mailed to children in countries across the world as a symbol of world peace.
