Concerns voiced on fuel station proposal

Print

Three major points of concern continued to be raised regarding a request for a permit to install and operate an automated watercraft fueling station at Overlook Park. The proposal was formally presented at the Franklin County Water District’s April board meeting by Ralph Robertson. The three points repeatedly raised by staff and members of the board dealt with environmental safety, use of public park land for private enterprise, and the lack of a substantial bonus payment for lake property to the water district. For more details from the discussion, see the May 5 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
