Marina request gets opposition from area realtors, brokers

Print

A request to include specific wording allowing the operation of a real estate brokerage office in the operating agreement for Tall Tree Marina was met with strong opposition at the Franklin County Water District’s Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday, June 21 meeting.
Board president Tim Philhower, who is also the father of the marina owner, recused himself from the discussion and left the room. He has done this on each occasion the board has considered matters involving the marina and its operation. Vice president Billy Jordan conducted this portion of the meeting. Brian Philhower spoke on behalf of himself and his wife, Amanda, who own Tall Tree Marina and East Texas Real Estate. They are currently renegotiating their marina operating agreement with the district. For details from the meeting, see the June 30 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
