The Franklin County Water District Board of Directors denied a request to allow marketing and sales of real estate from an office on property leased and operated at Tall Tree Marina last week. Owners Brian and Amanda Philhower, principals in Philecon, Inc., had asked that the matter be tabled until August so they could be present for the meeting.
“I don’t know that it will make any difference waiting until then,” stated Director Dwayne Bolin, after board president Tim Philhower, recused himself from the discussion and left the room.
The board made brief work of denying the request. The discussion of the matter and public comment took more than an hour during the June board meeting. For information on other actions taken by the board, see the July 28 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
