The Mount Vernon City Council gave its approval for an inter local agreement with Franklin County at a special called meeting Tuesday, August. 2. The agreement includes an outline for the city to provide funding for materials, while the county commissioners will provide man power and equipment to work on specific streets inside the city. The estimated cost of the repairs for streets designated is between $30,000 and $40,000. The selection of the streets to be repaired was a combination of the city’s street committee and commissioners’ recommendations. For a listing of streets to repaired first, see the Aug. 4 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
