Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

The Mount Vernon School Board adopted a total tax ordinance of $1.17674 for 2011 in a special called meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 23. Members set the tax rate  at $.99024 for maintenance and operations. This is the same rate utilized for the previous four years. Property valuation for the school district, which is down approximately $30 million from last year, was reported at $807,455,696.
