Only a portion of the structure at 109 Sandy Lake Rd. was damaged by fire on Wednesday, August 17 in the Sandy Acres Development. The house owned by Aydee Resendiz received damage to the southeast corner on the east end in a bedroom. According to Franklin County Fire Marshall Gerry Allen an electrical cause can not be ruled out in the case. The family had no insurance, but was able to repair the eletrical wires and are still living at the residence.
