Retired Franklin County Judge Wayne Foster died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011 at his residence. He was 67 years old.
Services were at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24 at the First Baptist Church of Mount Vernon. Burial was in the Mount Vernon City Cemetery with Rev. Pepper Puryear, Rev. Pete Freeman, and Weldon Foster officiating.
“I feel the way to have a good county government is to become involved,” Mr. Foster stated during his first campaign for Franklin County Judge. “I hope to get as many people as possible interested and involved in county government.”
He served as Franklin County Judge from 1986 until 2002, when he retired.
“This community has lost a mighty tiger,” Rev. Freeman said during services on Monday.
