The dates for the 2012 primary elections were changed by court order Friday, Dec 16. The 2012 General Primary Election will be April 3 and the Runoff Primary, if needed, will be June 5. The new dates were set by the three judge panel for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas. Wednesday of last week, the same court issued an order extending the filing deadline for all elected offices to be included on the 2012 primary ballots from Dec. 15 to Dec. 19. According to local party county chairmen, no additional filings for local office took place during that extended period.
