Filing will begin Saturday for those interested in becoming a candidate for a position as Mount Vernon mayor and its City Council or the Mount Vernon Independent School District’s Board of Trustees.
Those offices are not required to be open on weekends, making Monday, Feb. 6 the first chance for candidates to file. See the February 2 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more information about the upcoming elections.
