Austin Bawdon, 15 year-old grandson of Roger and Marlys Bawdon of Saltillo, shot an Eastern wild turkey on Saturday, April 4 in northern Franklin County. The turkey weighed 21 pounds, had an 11 inch beard, and one-half inch spurs. He called the bird in and shot him with a 12 gauge shotgun while his grandfather was in another blind.
