More than 365 people in Franklin County ordered hams from the Mount Vernon Volunteer Fire Department this year. The hams were available for pickup on Saturday, April 11, just in time for Easter dinner.
The department grossed $10,000 from the sale of the hams and donations. They netted more than $5,000 to be used to purchase equipment and gear for use by the firemen. “The community’s support of this fund-raiser is overwhelming,” said Fire Chief Jeremy Cox. “Their support is greatly appreciated.”
