Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

This summer, six students and two Mount Vernon teachers were involved in Project STEEM, (Science, Technology, Engineering, Education and Mathematics), a two week venture conceived and presented by Texas A & M University Commerce and the Greater Texas Foundation for students in grades six through twelve. Only ten schools from the Northeast Texas Rural School area were selected to participate and this year for the first time; Mount Vernon was among those chosen.
