Franklin County Commissioners lifted the ban on outdoor burning at a special  meeting on Monday, Aug. 20. The action to rescind the ban went into effect immediately. The removal of the ban was spurred when recent rains caused the Keetch-Bynum Drought Index to drop the local area rating from over 700 to between 400-600.
